Alvin's Work...

As Marty said in our very first post, all of our resources are tried and tested to achieve Outstanding results in real classroom environments.  Alvin is a year 8 pupil from London.  Have a look at his excellent work on imagery from our KS3 Olympics themed unit below.  Click on the images if you'd like to see his work in more detail.
To find a Super Quick Lesson Plan for this lesson and download everything you need to recreate the full lesson in your classroom, check the previous post.
The starter activity - thinking of connotations for the  mascot images...

Completing the main task - designing his own mascots and explaining their connotations and the feelings they may evoke...

Completed final task.  Alvin's work clearly shows that he has achieved the learning objective - to develop imagery analysis and creation skills - and he effectively employed both key words - 'connotations' and 'evoke' - when presenting his work in the verbal plenary.  Well done Alvin!
